Canada here we come....

Up early at 4:30am to take son to airport, then loaded Henrietta with suitcases, shoes, towels, more tools.. and hats. Ready to leave home at 8:30am.

We headed north, then west past familiar farms, villages, and landmarks to new territory in Avon, NY for an early 11am lunch. Hmm, no perfume fragrances in Avon, but we did find a quaint eatery and home style lunches.

Next stop.. Buffalo, NY. We journeyed through farm country and small villages (missed if you zoom along Interstates) and enjoyed gently traveled Rt 20 at a 1931 leisurely pace of 40-45mph. The countryside is not a blur, it's a feast to enjoy. We needed a fuel stop (note location of gas tank) and an air conditioning action move (get it?) to cool the cabin.

And then the fields disappeared and busy came in fast to slow us down. Buffalo!

Then.. the Peace Bridge! Canada! Henrietta idled with cool patience at Canadian Customs for 30 minutes in 80° heat and stinky exhaust from the modern cars that enjoyed real a/c.

Next to Simcoe and a Comfort Inn for our overnight stay. Rt 3 was easy, villages, some traffic, and few road shoulders to ease onto to allow impatient drivers behind us to pass.

Simcoe at 5:30pm after ~250 miles in the rearview mirror, walk to Swiss Chalet for dinner, then nightfall and time to rest. Henrietta is tired, but pleased with herself. Tomorrow, on to Dearborn.
